I was first introduced to steamed collard greens while attending college in the South; they’re quite popular down there. And over the years my affection for collard greens has only grown. I’ve discovered the thick, hearty leaves are wonderful sliced in a raw salad, used as a sandwich wrap, and blended in a smoothie. Revitalize your body this week with this detox-friendly smoothie.
Orange Green Smoothie
Serving Size: 1 (~170 calories)
Ingredients
1/2 grapefruit, peeled and sliced into wedges (frozen if possible)
1/2 orange, peeled and sliced into wedges (frozen if possible)
1/4 avocado, pitted and peeled
2 collard green leaves, stems trimmed
1 cup water
4-5 ice cubes
1/8 tsp Stevia
